About

Writing has been a treasured hobby from the time Sarah learned to write, through the various stages of her life. She has tried many other crafts along the way, including sewing, knitting and painting. She has never loved any quite so much as she loved writing—until she found coding while getting her bachelor’s degree in science. That discovery carried her into a full-time job as a software developer.
Several years later, she became a mother and was inspired to choose a slower, more outdoorsy life, one that didn’t fit with being a full-time coder. While she still does create code on occasion, she gets to spend a lot more time creating nature-rich fantasy, and using the magic of science to root her stories in the tangible.

Lerovia
Nature Fantasy
There used to be four types of Guardians roaming and protecting Lerovia’s vast forest. These days, it all falls on the shoulders of the Tulnae. They infuse the forest with Light and life, keeping it free from blight and infestations.
Yet, something is happening that the Tulnae can’t fix. A threat is growing in the forest. In hushed tones, the Tulnae discuss one of their own who has turned to Darkness for the first time in generations. He’s caused a massive blight and will soon cause worse. He even has the audacity to claim that he’s trying to ‘save the forest’.
Pollar has no such ambitions. Her biggest wish is to sense a tree a hand’s-breadth away. No Tulna has ever been unable to do that before. Shunned for her ineptitude, she is, somehow, the Dark Tulna’s best hope to accomplish his aberrant goals.
But the other Guardians are not truly gone, and all of them, including the Tulnae, are not going to stand by and watch Lerovia disappear. Especially not at the hands of a Dark Tulna.

Tiny, Giant Snowflakes
A contemporary fantasy children’s story that explores the science of ice crystals
Jamie and Sam have magical bracelets that let them explore the teeny, tiny mysteries of the world, like water crystals. Join them for this chilly adventure that gets sky high!
Coding
It started when Sarah was asked ‘How would one conceptually code snow falling?’ and ended with several hours spent making this deceptively simple window. Come back again in a few months and see how it’s changed.
